Florida Safe Boating Requirements
Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, must have:
- A Temporary Safe Boating Certificate approved by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
OR - A Boating Safety Education identification card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
- The renter must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old.
- The renter must sign a contract, and guests must sign a liability waiver.
- The renter must provide a major credit card (Visa, Master Card, or American Express) at the time of rental. This is for damages or fees. It will be authorized for $1000, which will be released when the boat is returned on time with no damage. The renter is financially responsible for all damages and fees.
- Debit cards are not to be used or encouraged. Using a debit card may incur increased hold times and/or additional fees.
